Woman charged with Scott Blackwood's murder in Saltcoats

A woman has appeared in court charged with murder after the death of a man in North Ayrshire.

The body of Scott Blackwood, 30, was discovered in a house in Saltcoats on Thursday 4 July.

Georgina Smith, 21, made no plea or declaration when she appeared at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court.

Last week, three men Allan Nicol, 35, Martin McGowan, 27, and Thomas Moore, 26, appeared in court charged with the murder of Mr Blackwood.

They are due in court for a second appearance on Wednesday.

Ms Smith also faced charges of assault to injury and attempting to pervert the course of justice.

She was freed on bail for further investigation.

Police had been called to a report of a disturbance at a house in Wheatley Road at about 04:50 on Thursday 4 July.

Emergency services attended but Mr Blackwood was pronounced dead at the scene.
