Man, 61, suffers serious head injuries in Largs road accident

A 61-year-old man suffered head injuries after a road accident in Largs, North Ayrshire.

The man was walking with friends at about 23:50 on Sunday when he fell in Main Street, near the junction with Frazer Street.

He was struck by a Kia car being driven westbound by a 73-year-old woman.

The man was taken to Inverclyde Royal Hospital then transferred to Glasgow's Southern General Hospital where his condition is "very serious but stable".

Police Scotland have appealed for witnesses.
