Body of man found on Isle of Ulva beach

The body of a 60-year-old man has been discovered on a beach in the Inner Hebrides.

The death of the man, whose body was found on the Isle of Ulva, was not being treated as suspicious.

Police Scotland said: "At 08:00 this morning we were contacted by Stornoway coastguard following an incident on the Isle of Ulva.

"With the assistance of the coastguard the body of a 60-year-old man was recovered from the shoreline."

The RNLI said the alarm was raised by a man who had swum ashore onto the Isle of Ulva.

He reported that there was another man in the water still missing.

RNLI Lifeboats from Oban and Tobermory took part in the search along with the coastguard helicopter from Stornoway.
