Appeal after woman raped by two men in Glasgow

Police are appealing for information after a 24-year-old woman was raped by two men in the Govanhill area of Glasgow.

The woman was attacked on Dixon Road between of 01:00 and 02:00 on Monday.

She was seen outside the Spar shop in Cathcart Road just after 01:00 and again at about 01:50.

Police said CCTV images showed there were people in the area at the time and they are keen to speak to four men.

The woman was seen in the company of two men.

The first man had a sallow complexion and very dark hair. He was wearing a dark jumper, trousers and white trainers.

The second man also had a sallow complexion and dark hair. He was also wearing dark clothing.

'Reassure people'

Police said there were a further two men with yellow high visibility jackets near the Spar shop at about that time.

Det Insp Liz McLean, said: "Our review of CCTV images from the surrounding area has shown there were several people around the Cathcart Road area around the time of the incident.

"A number of people have already come forward to assist our investigation but we are keen to speak to these four men who we have seen on the CCTV to get in touch with us.

"It's possible they have information which could prove vital in assisting the investigation and help us trace those responsible for this attack."

She added: "I'm aware this incident will be a cause for concern for local residents and I would like to reassure people there are a number of additional patrols in the area. Anyone who has any information or concerns can speak to an officer or contact their local police office."
