Man accused of rape in Ayr pub toilet

Update 4 December 2014: Fenton Gass was acquitted of rape on 12 September when a jury found the charge not proven.

A man is to stand trial later this year charged with raping a woman in a pub toilet.

Fenton Gass is accused of carrying out the sex attack at the Central Bar in Ayr on 4 August last year.

The 43-year-old, from Alloway, South Ayrshire, entered a plea of not guilty during a short hearing at the High Court in Glasgow.

Judge Lord Matthews set a trial due to begin in September. The case is expected to last around four days.
