Search sparked after man seen in River Clyde in Glasgow

Rescue services have conducted a search of the River Clyde in Glasgow after reports a man was seen in the water.

Police Scotland said it had received calls that a man was seen falling from South Portland Street Suspension Bridge at about 19:20 on Sunday.

A spokeswoman for the force said the police helicopter was deployed along with officers and fire service staff.

She said the man had not been found and inquiries were ongoing.

Emergency services were seen further along the river on Sunday night at the Tradeston Bridge, known locally as the Squiggly Bridge.
