Dog walker sought over sex attack on woman in Clarkston

Police are trying to trace a man who sexually assaulted a woman in Clarkston, East Renfrewshire.

The man, who was walking a black Labrador, spoke to the 29-year-old victim before attacking her in Bull Road, near Church Road.

Police said the sexual assault happened between 22:30 and 23:00 on Saturday.

The suspect was described as white, aged 40 to 60, short in height, approximately 5ft 2in to 5ft 3in tall, with short dark hair.

Det Sgt Jane Drysdale, of Police Scotland, said: "We are carrying out significant inquiries into this incident and we would like to speak to anyone who was in this area at the time of the attack or may have some information which can help us identify the suspect.

"Incidents of this nature are rare in the area. I would like to reassure those living in the community that we are doing all we can to trace the person responsible.

"We have carried out local inquiries, including accessing all available CCTV to assist in identifying and apprehending this suspect."
