Teenager arrested over attempted murder in Kilmarnock

A teenager has been arrested in connection with the attempted murder of a 32-year-old man in East Ayrshire.

The victim was assaulted with a large weapon on a footpath, near Onthank Primary and Tourhill Road, Kilmarnock, at about 02:00 on 15 November.

He was treated at Crosshouse Hospital before being taken to Glasgow's Southern General Hospital.

Police said a 17-year-old male had been arrested. He is expected to appear at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court later.
