William Winton jailed for attack on William McCallum in Clydebank

A man who carried out a brutal street attack on a former friend has been jailed for six years.

William Winton, 53, battered and stamped on 48-year-old William McCallum in Clydebank, West Dunbartonshire, on 1 August last year.

The High Court in Glasgow heard how the men fell out over claims Mr McCallum had kissed Winton's girlfriend.

Winton admitted assault to the danger of life. Mr McCallum later died but his death was not related to the attack.
