Man held over Greenock 'murder bid' shooting incident

A 30-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a shooting incident in Greenock.

Officers were called to reports that a firearm had been discharged at a Vauxhall Insignia car in Poplar Street at about 12:45 on 1 February.

No one was injured but police said at the time they were treating the incident as attempted murder.

The man who has been arrested is expected to appear at Greenock Sheriff Court on Thursday.
