Man seriously injured after being hit by car in Paisley

A 20-year-old man has been seriously injured after being knocked down by a car in Paisley.

The pedestrian sustained life-threatening injuries and was taken to the Royal Alexandria Hospital in Paisley.

He was hit by a blue Vauxhall Corsa travelling east on Main Road, Ferguslie, near West Lane, at about 2340 on Friday.

The road was closed for several hours. The 19-year-old driver was uninjured.

Police Scotland has appealed for anyone with information to contact them.
