Clydebank cars damaged by deliberate fires


Police have appealed for witnesses after three cars were set on fire in Clydebank.

A white Volkswagen Tiguan and a black Volkswagen Polo parked in Antonine Gardens were set on fire at about 04:15 on Sunday.

A third car, a red Vauxhall Astra which was parked on Second Avenue, was set alight at 23:45.

Officers said a man wearing a grey hooded top with the the hood up was seen throwing an item into the car.

Det Con Scott McBride, of Police Scotland, said: "Our inquiries are at an early stage and at this time we have not established a motive or anything to link the incidents which left the three cars extensively damaged.

"I would like to speak to anyone who has any information that could assist in our inquiries to track down the person or persons responsible for these acts of wilful fire raising."
