Man dies four days after being hit by car in Greenock

A man has died in hospital four days after being hit by a car in Greenock.

Police have named the victim as 54-year-old Alan Gordon, who lived in the Inverclyde town.

Mr Gordon was struck by a red Renault Clio car on Container Way, near the entrance to the Tesco car park, at about 16:00 on Friday. The 55-year-old female driver was not injured.

Police said inquiries were ongoing and made a renewed appeal for any witnesses to the incident to come forward.
