A young singer whose family went to court to get her support offered to gifted children is to perform at a classical concert in Glasgow.

In 2007, Charlotte Brooks sat a Higher music exam while at Portree Primary on Skye and achieved a grade A.

Her family went to the Court of Session after Highland Council said it could not provide additional support.

The Brooks won their case and Charlotte left school at 11 and is privately educated with funding from the council.

Specialising in opera singing, the 15-year-old will perform at a concert organised by Govan Law Centre, which took Highland Council to court.

Charlotte first performed with Scottish Opera in Humperdinck's Hansel & Gretel when she was nine and has made further appearances over the past five years.

She performs under her stage name CharLi.

The concert in Glasgow's Adelaides Auditorium will also feature professional cellist Jacob Shaw and violinist Suyeon Kang. It will raise money for a new schools trust.
