A bicycle powered by seven cyclists sitting in a circle is being pedalled from John O'Groats to Land's End.
The team led by Ed Greig, from London, hopes to set a world record by being the first group to complete the route on a conference bike.
Volunteers are being sought along the way. So far the bicycle has reached Inverness and is now heading towards Grantown-on-Spey.
Mr Greig said the machine travels at an average 5mph (8km).
He added: "It is quite complicated to describe how the pedalling goes into the power of the bike's wheels.
"I would recommend the best thing for anyone who wants to understand it a bit more is to come and see it along the way.
"We will be passing through Scotland quite slowly."
