The chief executive of Scrabster Harbour Trust has stepped down from his job after less than a year in the post.

Rod Johnstone arrived from Shoreham Port Authority after a spell as chief executive of Cromarty Firth Port Authority.

The harbour trust declined to comment on Mr Johnstone's departure.

Trust chairman, William Calder, said the unscheduled vacancy would not hold back plans for a £25m redevelopment of the port.

In 2008, an industrial park was unveiled as part of the planned expansion of the harbour in Caithness.

Scrabster Harbour Trust and Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE) have been working together to progress the plans.
