Police are issuing leaflets and posters in Alness alerting the public to an attack on an elderly woman in her home.

Northern Constabulary hopes the effort will lead to more information on the incident.

The woman, who is in her 90s, was hurt and left frightened by the assault in Alness on 27 July.

Crimestoppers Scotland and security firm Castle Group have put up a reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of her attacker.

He was described as being between 5ft 7in and 5ft 9in, of slim to medium build, and was wearing a dark, waist-length jacket and jeans. He also spoke with a local accent.
