Two footballers have been cleared of carrying out a racial attack on a man outside an Aberdeen nightclub.

Ross County midfielder Iain Vigurs, 22, and his brother Patrick, 24, both of Bucksburn, were accused of assaulting Abidur Chowdhury.

The pair faced a further charge of behaving in a disorderly manner and uttering racial remarks.

Their case had been due to go to trial at Aberdeen Sheriff Court, but the Crown accepted their not guilty pleas.

The attack was alleged to have happened outside Tiger Tiger on Aberdeen's Shiprow.

Iain Vigurs was capped for Scotland at under-19 level while playing for Elgin City FC and also had trials at Leeds United.

It is understood his brother Patrick plays for junior side Fortmartine United.
