Biker injured in A9 crash at Daviot dies in Raigmore


A motorcyclist who was seriously injured in a crash on the A9 near Inverness last Monday morning has died in hospital.

Fergus Cooney, 41, from Helmsdale, Sutherland, came off his machine at Daviot.

The section of road was closed in both directions following the accident, which happened at about 0917 BST, but later reopened.

An air ambulance was called to the scene.
