Raigmore Hospital radiologist probe cases reviewed

An investigation into a locum radiologist's work at Raigmore Hospital in Inverness has reviewed all 786 patients he reported on.

The doctor was hired from an agency to look at images from X-rays, MRI and CT scans between 5 and 16 April.

NHS Highland launched a probe after other staff raised concerns about "discrepancies" in two patients' cases.

The health board said all the patients were being kept informed about the investigation's progress.

In a statement, NHS Highland said: "We have reviewed all the patients whose investigations were reported by the locum radiologist.

"We've kept patients informed and ensured that appropriate care is being given.

"The investigating team will now produce a report which will be published."
