Duncan MacInnes says his bid is 'no namby-pamby venture'

A community trust director is attempting to swim in more than 60 freshwater lochs and lochans in Sleat in the south of Skye.

Duncan MacInnes started his wild swimming in April to mark his 60th birthday and to raise money for Sleat Community Trust.

He said some of the bodies of water were just 50cm (19in) deep and muddy.

The trust runs a petrol station and a post office.

Mr MacInnes said: "I am staggered at some of the beautiful little lochs in Sleat that no-one goes to.

"The hard work is getting to them all, probably walking 60 miles in all, and walking between lochs in wet clothing."

He added: "This is no namby-pamby venture with wet-suits."
