Water pipe in Dingwall leaks two litre a second

A water pipe under a street of a Ross-shire town has been found to be leaking two litres every second.

Scottish Water said essential repairs to the decades old cast iron pipe under Dingwall's High Street will be carried out next Monday.

The company said the water has been leaking into the ground and may have damaged the foundations of a nearby road.

It added that water supplies in the area should not be affected.
