Changes to Highland care services planned

  • Published

Changes have been planned to how health and social care services are delivered by NHS Highland and Highland Council.

They are working on proposals to make services more efficient and effective by clearly defining where their responsibilities lie.

Under the plans, the council's social work department would look after issues relating to children.

NHS Highland would take over the main responsibility for adult community care.

The organisations have said there would be no job losses among the 1,500 staff involved as a direct result of the plans.
