Rise in numbers of drink-drivers in Highlands and isles
- Published
Police have expressed disappointment in the number of motorists found to be drink-driving in the Highlands and Islands.
Eight were detected over the Christmas week of Northern Constabulary's festive crackdown, compared with six during the same period in 2009.
Insp John Smith said it appeared that the message not to drink and drive was not getting through to some people.
He said patrols would continue early into the new year.
