A pedestrian has died in the Highlands after a car hit a man near Conon Bridge, police have said.
The man was struck at around 1730 GMT and officers closed a section of the A835 road to allow investigators to examine the scene.
Northern Constabulary said motorists should avoid the area where possible.
The force had issued a slush warning for roads in Caithness and Lochaber and there have been heavy snow warnings for the Highlands and Western Isles.
