'Homes for heroes' plan for Inverness approved
Plans for eight homes that would be offered to former Armed Forces personnel have been approved by a Scottish government reporter.
Tulloch Homes appealed against Highland Council's refusal of its proposals for a site near a new primary school at Milton of Leys, in Inverness.
Some residents had asked that the land be turned into a public space.
The Scottish Veterans' Garden City Association would manage the homes as part of its Houses for Heroes project.
The reporter said he was granting the appeal and planning permission because of the special nature of the development.
Under the plans, the properties would be made available to former military personnel and emergency services staff, some of them disabled.
