FAI into Jamesina Mackenzie's death at Dingwall home

A fatal accident inquiry (FAI) is to be held into the death of an 87-year-old nursing home resident.

Former vet Jamesina Mackenzie was admitted to hospital after falling ill at Wyvis House Care Home in Dingwall, Ross-shire, two years ago.

It was understood a doctor at Invergordon's County Hospital alerted police because of concerns about her medical condition.

Ms Mackenzie, from Torridon, Wester Ross, died on 31 May 2009.

Area procurator fiscal Andrew Laing has announced an inquiry is to be held at Dingwall Sheriff Court into the circumstances of her death.

It will take place in November.
