Fishing boat nets suspected mine near Skye Bridge

A fishing boat operating near to the Skye Bridge caught what is thought to be a World War II mine in its nets.

The two crew on board the Lady Lynne dropped the metal sphere in shallow water and have marked its location with a buoy.

The device was picked up by the boat at about 10.30.

Royal Navy divers will travel to the site later, or on Wednesday morning, to decide if a controlled explosion is necessary.
