Man who died while hillwalking named as Robert Tasker

A man who died after taking ill while hillwalking near Ullapool has been named by police.

Robert Tasker, 55, from Dundee, had been near the summit of Meall Nan Peitherin with a family member and friend on Saturday.

Dundonnell Mountain Rescue Team was called out after the group, who were all experienced walkers, raised the alarm at about 12:00.

Meall Nan Peitherin is part of the East Fannich range in Easter Ross.

Police said Mr Tasker's death had been caused by "an apparent medical condition" and a report has been submitted to the procurator fiscal.
