Thousands in Loch Ness Marathon and Running Festival

More than 9,000 people took part in Sunday's Baxters Loch Ness Marathon and Festival of Running, which was held in and around Inverness.

Central AC athlete Ross Houston, 32, won the men's event in two hours 20 minutes and 24 seconds - 11 seconds outside the course record set in 2009.

Houston's win also secured him the Scottish men's national marathon title for the second year in a row.

Avril Mason, of Shettleston Harriers, won the women's event in 2:54:54.
