A congregation is having to raise £560,000 for a new church because its current place of worship has been damaged by subsidence.

Large cracks have appeared in the walls of the Free Church building in Fortrose, on the Black Isle.

Pews in parts of the 102-year-old church have also started to tilt at an angle where the floor has sunk.

The congregation has managed to raise £360,000 of the money needed to demolish and rebuild on the site.

It has launched an emergency appeal for funds to help it towards the £560,000 target.

A modern church has been planned with an improved hall, kitchen and toilet.
