Inverness air passengers in Scottish Open travel warning

Traffic management measures for golf's Scottish Open could impact on people travelling by road to reach Inverness Airport, the site's operator has said.

Highlands and Islands Airports Limited (Hial) said more time will be needed to make the journey.

Speed limits on parts of the A96, B9039 and Inverness Airport Road will be cut from 60 to 30mph from Thursday until Sunday.

The golf tournament is being held at Castle Stuart, near Inverness.

Police said the A96 from the Balloch junction on the outskirts of Inverness east to the turn off to the B9039 would be restricted to 30mph.

Parts of the B9039 and Inverness Airport Road will also be limited to 30mph.
