Highland councillors back cutback on paper

Paper reports for Highland Council committee meetings could be phased out by 2017.

Councillors have voted for a move towards a "paperless agendas" and for greater use of technology such as tablets.

Reducing reliance on printed reports and documents forms part of the local authority's Carbon Clever initiative.

The scheme aims to significantly cut waste and harmful carbon emissions in the Highlands by 2025.
