Hazel Mackerness of Forres named as A96 victim

A female pedestrian who died after a collision involving two cars on the A96 between Inverness and Nairn has been named by police.

Hazel Mackerness was 83 and from Forres in Moray.

Police Scotland said she died at the scene of the accident which happened near Tornagrain at 20:26 on Tuesday.

Officers have appealed for information about the collision.
