Ballot expected of porters at Raigmore Hospital
Porters at the biggest hospital in the Highlands are to be balloted on industrial action, BBC Scotland understands.
The action, if it goes ahead, would involve members of the GMB union and be taken in response to proposed new rotas at Raigmore Hospital in Inverness.
NHS Highland said new rotas were to be trialled from the start of next month.
The health board said they would meet the needs of the porter service and "enhance patient care".
NHS Highland said a review of porter services had been carried out and the process had involved porters, their representatives and management.
