Police inquiries after man dies in Wick

A man in his 40s has died in Wick after becoming unwell, police have said.

Emergency services were called to a property in the Willowbank area of the Caithness town at about 03:25.

The man was taken from the address to Caithness General Hospital where he later died. Police Scotland said his death did not appear to be suspicious.

Because of ongoing inquiries, Police Scotland said there would be a continued police presence in the Willowbank area.

A spokesperson said: "There is no wider threat to the community and there does not appear to be any suspicious circumstances.

"The man's next of kin have been informed of his death."
