A man jailed after being found guilty of abusing two young girls in the 1970s and 80s in north east Scotland must wait to learn the result of an appeal.

William Robertson, 51, was jailed for five years last year.

He had been living in Germany and was brought to Scotland, where he was convicted in the high court of abusing the girls.

He appealed his conviction at the Court of Criminal Appeal in Edinburgh on Wednesday. A ruling will follow later.
