Aberdeen could be set for a major new supermarket after outline plans for a site in the north of the city were submitted.

Standard Life Investment Funds, owners of the Murcar Industrial Estate at Bridge of Don, have made the application.

It is not yet known which supermarket firm would be involved in the project should it proceed.

The site is currently home to B&Q and Carpetright stores.
