Alleged drug dealers 'threw heroin from other flat'

Two alleged drug dealers were unwittingly caught after heroin was thrown from a window as police raided a neighbouring flat, a court has heard.

Andrew Ross, 39, and Kieron Beckett, 19, deny supplying the Class A drug at an Aberdeen flat in April last year.

A trial at the city's sheriff court heard police saw a package being thrown from a window of a flat next door to their intended target.

The crime allegedly happened at Great Northern Road. The trial continues.

Giving evidence, Pc Colin Hunter said he was standing outside with another officer and a drugs sniffer dog when he noticed a window opening.

He said: "You could clearly hear a metal ram which was being used on the door.

"As we were watching the building a window opened and an object was thrown out of it.

"We actually discovered that it was from the flat next door."
