Six hurt as bus brakes suddenly in Aberdeen

Six people were taken to hospital for treatment after a bus had to brake sharply in Aberdeen.

First's number one single-decker heading to Garthdee was involved in the accident on King Street, at the Castlegate end, at about 1125 BST.

The Scottish Ambulance Service told BBC Scotland that six passengers had been taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.

Duncan Cameron, operations director of First in Aberdeen, said an investigation had been launched.

Meanwhile, a man was taken to hospital after being struck by a car on Great Western Road.
