Child abuser 'tried to kill himself'

A man who admitted sexually abusing two young girls tried to commit suicide before later admitting the offences, a court has heard.

Arthur Fulton, 63, abused his first victim in Aberdeen between 1997 and 2000, beginning when she was aged six.

He abused the second child between October 2004 and March this year.

After being question by police in March, Fulton attempted to take his own life by cutting his wrists. Sentence was deferred for reports.

Fulton admitted two charges of indecency when he appeared at the High Court in Edinburgh.
