Man jailed for Aberdeen cemetery stabbing

A drug user who stabbed a man in an Aberdeen cemetery when a deal went wrong has been jailed for five years.

John Ellis, 29, of Ballater, stabbed a 34-year-old man in the stomach in Nellfield Cemetery on Great Western Road in June 2009.

Ellis was earlier cleared of attempted murder but found guilty of a lesser charge of assault to the danger of life.

He was jailed at the High Court in Edinburgh.
