Bomb disposal unit destroy package at RAF Lossiemouth

A controlled explosion has been carried out on a suspicious package found at RAF Lossiemouth.

Grampian Police said an Army bomb disposal unit had been called to the Moray base from Edinburgh after the discovery on Wednesday afternoon.

Once the area was confirmed safe, a security cordon was lifted.

Grampian Police's Insp Alistair Robertson said: "The package was found to be of no danger to the personnel at RAF Lossiemouth."
