American bison is being farmed commercially in Scotland at a farm in Aberdeenshire.

Caledonia Bison began with eight bison four years ago and now has 40 grazing at Mill of Muchalls near Stonehaven, with plans to further expand the herd.

The company's Moya von Nida Bothwell told BBC Scotland the meat will be going on sale from the enterprise's website from next week.

The company said bison meat is lower in cholesterol and fat than beef.
