Woman in hospital after Aberdeenshire car crash

A woman has been taken to hospital with serious injuries following a two-car crash in Aberdeenshire.

Grampian Police said the accident happened on the B9119 just west of Echt at about 0915 GMT.

A Scottish Ambulance Service spokeswoman told BBC Scotland a woman had sustained "life-threatening" injuries.

The road was closed following the incident and police said diversions had been put in place.
