Special constable cleared of indecent handcuffs charge

  • Published

A special constable has been cleared of assaulting a woman by handcuffing her to a bed then taking indecent photographs in Aberdeenshire.

Graeme Duguid, 43, was alleged to have assaulted the woman, who cannot be named, at a house.

However, Mr Duguid denied the claims and said the incident was consensual.

Sheriff Kieran McLernan cleared Mr Duguid after a trial at Aberdeen Sheriff Court. Mr Duguid said he was "delighted".

He previously told the court he did not believe the woman objected to handcuffs being used.

Mr Duguid's lawyer Gregor Kelly said afterwards: "Mr Duguid is delighted that he has been vindicated and regrets that this very private matter has been aired in this very public forum."
