A fisherman has been rescued after his boat started sinking off the Moray coast.
The skipper of the Buckie-registered Silver Rock reported he was taking on water north of Lossiemouth at about 0800 GMT on Thursday.
A rescue helicopter from RAF Lossiemouth and a lifeboat were sent to the area after Aberdeen Coastguard received the mayday call.
However the man made it into a liferaft and was picked up by another boat.
He escaped serious injury and was being returned to land by the boat Jenna Maree.
Silver Rock later sank.
