Man in hospital after crash on A944 in Aberdeenshire

A man has been taken to hospital after a multiple-car accident on a busy road on the outskirts of Aberdeen.
The collision, believed to involve five or six vehicles, happened westbound on the A944 Kingswells to Westhill road shortly before 0800 GMT.
A Scottish Ambulance Service spokeswoman said a man in his 50s had been taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary with head and hand injuries.
A Grampian Police spokesperson said the area had been icy at the time.
