Aberdeen drug gang man's sentence upheld by judge

A member of a drug gang jailed after police seized heroin and cocaine worth £200,000 in Aberdeen has failed to have his sentence cut.

Akil Fox, 26, who was jailed for six years and two months, claimed he had been treated unfairly at the end of his trial at the High Court in Edinburgh.

It was claimed at the Court of Criminal Appeal in Edinburgh his role had been over-estimated.

However, judge Lord Bonomy rejected the appeal.

Seven men and one woman had been convicted of supply offences after a lengthy trial.

The court heard that the drugs were discovered during Operation Charger in Aberdeen.
