A 44-year-old man has been charged in connection with an assault on an eight-year-old girl which happened on board an Aberdeen bus.

It follows an incident on the number 23 service in the Rosemount area of the city last month.

Grampian Police said its Rosemount, Hazlehead and Mastrick teams had been part of the inquiry and thanked the public and First Bus for their help.

They added that the girl involved had been unhurt and was safe and well.
